Foricher T80 - why the bag says wholemeal
Some bags of Foricher T80 use wording that refers to wholemeal flour. We understand this can be confusing if you have ordered T80 and expected a lighter French-style flour.
The flour is correct. Foricher T80 is a stoneground T80 flour, so it is naturally off-white and contains some of the wheatgerm and fine bran from the wheat. It is not, however, a wholemeal flour in the usual UK baking sense.
T80 sits between very white flour and wholemeal flour. It has more character, colour and flavour than a very refined white flour, but it is still much lighter than a true wholemeal flour.
The wording on the bag is Foricher’s current labelling choice. The flour inside is the Foricher T80 product listed on our website.
If you are still unsure, please send us a photo of the bag label and batch details and we will be happy to check it for you.
