Q: Can Yeast be Frozen?
A1: Bioreal yeast from Agrano: Bioreal organic yeast cannot be frozen but should be kept in the fridge. Fresh will keep for a long time especially if unopened. The dried will keep well in a fridge in an airtight container.
A2: Non-organic yeast may be frozen or kept in the fridge, as with the Bioreal, in an airtight container.
Notes: All yeasts will gradually degrade over time and cooling will slow the process. The longest shelf-life comes from dried yeast kept in an airtight container, whether organic or not.
