The removable banneton or proving basket liners are an option for those wanting to keep their basket in pristine condition but more especially to avoid staining the basket if making dough containing strong colours or flavours such as tomato or garlic. Many use them with the dish-washable bannetons instead of oiling the unlined basket.
The liners should be dusted with flour in the usual way (we think rye is best but rice or potato flour can be used - wholemeal wheat if you have none listed).
